OK. I submitted my video. Let’s see what happens! Thanks, Banjo Ben!
Kevin, all you need on the video is the #rkgiveaway hashtag. I asked everyone who enters to follow Recording King though to show your support. Thanks!
Marc, as long as you use the #rkgiveaway hashtag, I’ll find it!
Stephanie, you can play guitar for your entry! Thanks!
Perplexed, I’m hoping you can find someone to borrow an instrument from!
Santos, I can only accept a banjo or a guitar tuned to banjo. Thanks!
#RkGiveaway. Dont. Own. A. Guitar. Or. Banjo. Love. To. Wi
I uploaded my video on FB and put in the #RKGiveaway. However, I couldn’t find a way to tag Banjo Ben or Recording King. I didn’t see an option for that. Am I doing something incorrect?
I attempted to upload my entry to YouTube. Hopefully you can find it!
I have guitar- can I play the guitar version with background track? It says on the internet you will probably break a string if I tune to banjo notes😬. I can’t play it yet on guitar but willing to try!
Still waiting for answer to my question from a few days ago.

You said its ok if we don’t own banjo or guitar. Then you said you want us to post a video of us learning and playing a song. How can we do that if we don’t own a banjo or guitar???
I have a Ukulele 4 string not Baritone can I use it to enter contest?
Love the sound of a banjo
Thanks
Joshua, I sure do! Looking forward to yours! Thanks for the shoutout!
Elston, it doesn’t need to be loud, but I do need to be able to verify that you used the jam track. Of course hearing your pickin is more important! Looking forward to your entry!
Hey Ben! Do you personally listen to every entry clip? I put a shoutout at the end of mine lol
Hey Ben. Do you need to be able to hear the jam track in the video. My computer speaker isn’t very loud. I mostly just use my head phones.
Matt, my assistant Alicia just emailed you with some information about your account. Thanks!
Hi Banjo Ben – I’m working on the competition song and having a great time. However, when I go onto your website I can’t see your Free Silver Pack as you explain on your video above. Maybe because I signed up for a Gold Pick Trial last year at some point? Help! I want to enter the competition.
Thanks
Matt
Karen, it’s no problem at all that you’re a beginner. Just give it a go! I’ll be glad to get your entry!
Sorry for my last comment) I meant, the sad thing about is that the win is just a random. I had some really cool plans on this challenge, but then I understood that It goes like just random, I gave them all up(
And – sorry for my english! Greetings from Russia!
Eh, the sad thing about is that the win is just a random. I had some really cool plans on this challenge,
I know how to play a clarinet, =D and I’ve always wanted to play a banjo cause of Roy Clark on Hee Haw. My thing is I would be consider a true blue beginner who doesn’t know which string is G,A,E,C, etc… so is it ok if I sound terrible and slaughter the song? Just wondering for a mom who has children that can pick up an instrument it it like nothing to them. I like to surprise them AND my husband even if I don’t win I just like to surprise them with one song. I’ll watch your videos to help me. Thanks!
Just entered best of luck everyone..
Christopher, you’ll need to tune it. Looking forward to your entry!
So I have tune the guitar as a banjo or can I just pick it on the guitar..?? I’ve always wanted to pick up banjo… never really could afford one as I live in a poor community.. I hope I can get an entry to this contest.. thanks Ben
William, only banjos or guitars will qualify for this particular contest. Sorry! Hope you can get your hands on one so you can submit an entry!
Paul, as long as you use my rhythm track, your entry will qualify. Thanks!
Angela, make sure to watch the whole video! I realize it will be a challenge for some, but hopefully you can get your hands on a banjo or guitar. Maybe you could have a friend record and post your video for you.
Is the expectation to try and play the solo like you did, or is it ok to improvise a little?
Hi Ben this is William still have a fiddle and a mandolin but no guitar can I try a mandolin? My uncle Lee Stoneking played it on a fiddle. Have a blessed day.
Rita, you can absolutely participate! The contest is for everyone!
You want to watch a video of me holding a broom and “air” playing it as I don’t own a banjo? And how do I create a video? My laptop is ancient and doesn’t have a camera. I also don’t have a smart cellphone. Your contest rules are unrealistic.
I am new to the banjo at 75 years old . I would like a new banjo but not good enough and don’t know how to upload to YouTube
Can I enter the banjo contest. I am a gold pick member, but it seems this contest is only for new members?
You said its ok if we don’t own banjo or guitar. Then you said you want us to post a video of us learning and playing a song. How can we do that if we don’t own a banjo or guitar???
Excited to enter. Thanks Banjo Ben.
Can’t wait to start working on this and post my video. Thank you Banjo Ben and recording King!
It is way more fun that we get to play. We can all use a fun productive challenge during this time at home. Thanks Banjo Ben and Recording King!!!
Hey Tim, make sure to watch the whole video! Surely you can get your hands on a guitar or banjo and submit the basic melody solo. Sure, it’s a challenge but it’s worth it! Most anyone can get access to a guitar ;)
I was really hoping to have a chance to win your banjo so that I could learn to play. A bit disappointed I need to already know how.
I think I’ll have a go at this one. Better get busy lol! It’s my birthday on Wednesday, so lets hope I can wrangle me a birthday banjer.
I had to sell my banjo to pay for bills I wish I hadn’t I missed it ever since good luck to whoever wins it.

Hey Ben, I’ve just finished with a FB entry and did the RK tag. The ole banjo I have is a Whirle Gem Junior. The cool thing about it is that the fifth string tuner is not on the neck, but is at the back of the head stock and the string snakes through the neck to connect. Thanks for running the competition, it gave me a chance to motivate myself and learn a new song at the very least. Cheers!
