Skill Levels:
Beginner 3-Finger Banjo: Camper must be able to make basic chord shapes, play basic arrangements from tab, and be eager to learn! Jamming and improvisation skills and experience are not required, but a willingness to be challenged in these areas is desired. Both Scruggs and melodic styles will be covered.

Intermediate 3-Finger Banjo: Camper needs to be competent in playing basic backup and able to create basic solos without using tab. These campers should be accustomed to jamming and have a desire to push their limits in Scruggs, melodic, and improvisational skills to an intermediate/advanced level.

Basic Clawhammer Banjo: Camper needs no experience in playing clawhammer banjo, only a desire and interest to learn! Camper does not need to own a clawhammer-specific banjo–any 5-string banjo will work fine.

INSTRUCTORS: Alan Munde & Katy Lou Clark (of The Purple Hulls) will be teaching the 3-finger banjo classes, with Banjo Ben holding sessions throughout camp. All 3-finger students will have ample time with both instructors as both skill levels rotate throughout the weekend.

Dave Dillard of NashvilleBanjoCompany.com will teach the beginner clawhammer students. If you sign up for 3-finger and would like an introduction to clawhammer, Dave will give you that opportunity throughout the weekend. 

All campers will have morning sessions where they will hear from all instructors.

Atmosphere:This camp is an intimidation-free zone! No one will be put on the spot or made to feel dumb! Mess ups are encouraged, because that means you're trying. Believe me, I mess up all the time. Also, the entire camp will be kid-friendly, as I have a 6 and 8-year-old who will both be hanging around and going through your purse or wallet. 

Preparation: I will help you prepare! I'll send you some tunes we'll be working on, as well as other tips to get you ready. 

Food: We will have the BEST food, catered by renowned North Carolina chef Damon Coe, specializing in southern-style sides and wood-fire pit BBQ.

• Lodging, which is amply available at nearby hotels.

Cancellation policy: There will be a $250 cancellation fee beginning on March 8; no refunds after March 22. If for some reason the event is not able to be held, refunds will be given to those who cannot reschedule.

FAQs: 

1. Can I bring my family or friends? You may purchase supper guests passes. The guests will be welcome to join us for supper around 6PM and after-supper activities. They will not be able to attend the camp during the day. 
2. Should I fly or drive? That's up to you! I live in Mount Juliet, TN, about 15 minutes from the Nashville airport and 5 minutes from suggested hotel lodging. If flying, you will probably not need to rent a car as Uber and Lyft are common here. 
3. What happens if it rains? I have facilities that will accommodate ;) 
4. What will the weather be like? April is just about perfect weather! You may need a light jacket in the evenings outside.
