This banjo is an absolute cannon! Power and tone that hits way way above it’s price range!
Cosmetically this banjo looks like the RK-80 model, which was the original Recording King 5-string banjo. It's look is based on the old Gibson made Recording King models from the late 1920’s and 1930's.
But this particular banjo is hiding some secrets. It’s got all original Recording King parts except for a 3 Ply Cox maple rim and a Kulesh “Big 10” tonering. It’s got all the appointments that a professional player would want, including a boutique 5/8 banjo bridge and a setup which has the coordinator rods set to not have hardly any pressure on the rim to adjust action. It plays really smooth and structurally is put together really well! Even has a little gap between the end of the fretboard and the tension hoop. So it’s got all the stuff you want to see in a build like this.
Cosmetically it’s not absolutely perfect though. Even though it looks mostly brand new, you can find a little imperfection here or there in the finish if you try to find such things…but nothing that hurts sound or playability! This is probably the best banjo for the money in the shop right now when it comes to sound and playability.
Includes full professional setup and free shipping within the lower 48 US!
