INSTRUMENT: Mandolin
INSTRUCTORS: Wayne Benson, David Benedict, and myself (Banjo Ben).
LOCATION: Live online
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, January 28, 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM Central Time (Texas, US)

Camp Overview:
This online Cabin Camp will help you become a more complete mandolin player! We'll take a bluegrass standard and learn each aspect of playing it on the mandolin, in such a way that you'll be able to apply to any song!
Sessions:
Banjo Ben will teach how to find the key of the song and its melody on the mandolin fretboard. We'll focus on playing kickoffs or intros to a song, and how to count it in for a jam environment.
David Benedict will teach various approaches to chord shapes for chopping and how to play fills to support the vocalist.
Wayne Benson will teach how to improvise over the chord progression, unlocking the circle of fifths, and using leading tones to make solos and improv more interesting & spontaneous.
Skill Level:
The camp will be broadly aimed at intermediate pickers. Beginners are encouraged to attend because there will be much to be gained, and you'll have access to the videos as you grow in your picking. Advanced pickers are also encouraged to attend as they will also find much value in the material covered.
The price is $149, which includes:
Who are the instructors?
David Benedict
David's mandolin rap-sheet includes a unique degree in Mandolin Performance and years of touring experience with 10-time IBMA Bass Player of the Year Missy Raines and 2020 IBMA New Artist of the Year Mile Twelve. He now plays with his wife Tabitha in the band The Foreign Landers and makes videos for his YouTube channel which has over seven million views and counting.
Wayne Benson
Wayne Benson has been the mandolinist with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out for 30 years. He is also the six-time SPBGMA Mandolin Player of the Year and recipient of eleven IBMA awards in various categories. In 2001, Wayne partnered with Gibson Musical Instruments to produce the Wayne Benson signature model mandolin. He is also the creator of the instructional YouTube channel, Wayne’s World of Mandolin. In addition to performing, recording, and maintaining his online presence, Wayne teaches a full roster of private students each week.
Banjo Ben Clark
Though he's often called Banjo Ben, he's just as comfortable with a mandolin in his hands! Ben has taught thousands of mandolin pickers worldwide for nearly two decades and specializes in unlocking the fretboard for better understanding. He thrives on seeing his students "get it" and take their mandolin playing to a new level. Don't tell his banjo, but Ben thinks that his mandolin makes a prettier sound.
