A unique instrument and a blend of a few Northfield designs. The A5 borrows from the very popular Model M and Artist Series Mandolins to create a powerful response in an elegantly appointed instrument.

This Northfield model has a handful of unique features that set it apart from Northfield's Standard Series including a master grade Italian spruce top, premium sugar maple back and sides, with highly flamed maple neck, spirit varnish finish, and the abbreviated Nugget tailpiece.  The sound is right up there with anything we’ve ever played.  It’s rich and deep and woody and open and airy and clear and punctual all at the same time.  The way this model boils down, is that Northfield took all the things that really matter for sound, and stripped away all the stuff that doesn’t.  So with that you have in function what would cost you three times as much if you were to go with an F-Style equivalent instead.  Just tons of value here.
