Recording King Madison Open Back RK-OT26 Banjo

Monthly payments available Learn more

This banjo has a lot of the simplicity and elegance that most players want in an old time openback banjo, while also having some of the nicer features you don’t usually get on a banjo at this price point.

With a hand-rubbed satin finish, a maple neck with adjustable truss rod, and a true steam-bent maple rim with Whyte Laydie Tone Ring, the Madison RK-OT26 is wonderfully suited for old timey picking.

This banjo is built specifically for old-time players, with features like a scooped fretboard, Presto tailpiece and Remo FiberSkyn head, as well as better and more precise head tension control thanks to the 24-bracket tension hoop.

The Madison OT26 is perfect for clawhammer and old-time players who like a little more sparkle in the tone.  This is thanks to the Whyte Laydie tone ring, with a scooped fretboard still for access to the more mellow tone area.  Also has an armrest for comfort.

Includes 5th string spike installation at 7th fret (more can be done at no charge upon request), full pro setup, and free shipping within the lower 48 US.
