Jake’s personal guitar. Played a couple shows with it, changed the ugly black pickguard to something more appropriate, flattened and refinished the top of the headstock to look more “Martin” like, changed out the bridge pins to ebony black…and included a hardshell case. All that and for $50 less than you could normally buy one for without a case and upgrades. Virtually still like new with no mentionable fret wear, this would be a great box for somebody!
Incredible guitar with all the features you’d want in a bluegrass style dreadnought, but at fraction of the price of most similar options. And, this one has aged 30 year old Adirondack Spruce!
Recording King RD-318 evokes classic dreadnought style, sound & volume thanks to hand-selected tonewoods and vintage styling.
The foundation of the 318 tone comes from solid Adirondack spruce tops that has been naturally aging for the past 30 years. Adirondack’s excellent projection, coupled with three decades of curing delivers a stiff, loud, lightweight top with powerful fundamental tone. Very powerful in the midrange as well as the bass response, and the trebles are clear and solid, and it has that dry tone as D-18’s are known for due to the solid mahogany back and sides.
The 318 is styled with classy, low-key fretboard dots on the rosewood fretboard, and a vintage-style black pickguard to protect the top. The 318 classic rosette design and 18 style body purfling complete the traditional look.
For players that need the power and volume that only a dreadnought can provide, but still want the warmth and vibrancy that comes with aged tonewoods, the RD-318 offers the best of both worlds at a fraction of the price of a vintage instrument. Includes full professional setup, strap button installation, and free shipping within the Lower 48 US.
