This banjo has a lot of the traditional ornate features that many players want in an old time openback banjo, while also having some of the nicer features you don’t usually get on a banjo at this price point. Good Used Condition! Frets in brand new condition, and tone gard is included!
This banjo is virtually brand new except the fact that the neck was cracked in shipping years ago when it was brand new, making this one of the older more desirable models with real Ebony fingerboard and real Pearl inlays (before they switched to synthetic). The repair was professionally done and is barely noticeable, can’t feel it with the left hand and have to get the light up close just right to even be able to see it. So it’s good to go for the long haul. Has a synthetic granite material nut (hard like bone), and is all setup and plays great!
With a lacquer finish, a maple neck with adjustable truss rod, and a maple rim with Whyte Laydie Tone Ring, this is a wonderfully suited banjo for old timey picking. The neck angle is set to accommodate an 11/16” bridge (Bridges By Bart) to be able to get the thumb in deep and pop the strings without extra effort to reach in and grab it! This makes the banjo still easy to play on the fingerboard but gets the strings a little higher up off the head!
This banjo is built specifically for old-time players, with features like a scooped fretboard, clamshell tailpiece and Remo FiberSkyn head, as well as better and more precise head tension control thanks to the 24-bracket tension hoop.
This type of banjo is perfect for clawhammer and old-time players who like a little more sparkle in the tone. This is thanks to the Whyte Laydie tone ring! It looks great too with the cloud inlay and overall aesthetic!
Includes full pro setup, and free shipping within the lower 48 US.
