At last!!! A Snark Mount that WILL work for your Deering Goodtime Banjo!
This gadget is way cool, and you know how we banjo players like our gadgets!
Simply clip it between the J-Hooks on your banjo, then pop the ST-8 Snark Tuner (sold seperately) off of it's clip and snap it right on to this bracket. The whole process takes a few seconds and the end result is a really slick looking, onboard tuner for your banjo. This eliminates the need for a tuner hanging off your headstock and moves it down closer to the banjo for more accurate tuning and better visibility.
This one is for the 11” Deering Goodtime series.

I still think it's good value for the price, but after only 2 months of frequently installing the tuner and removing it from this mount to use with other banjos, the mount snapped in the middle of the plastic "hook" that clips onto the bracket hooks last. So if you plan to use one, I recommend having a dedicated tuner for the mount and forget about moving it back and forth from one banjo to another.
I'm very happy with the mount, since I've liked mounting Snark Tuners in a similar location on other banjos but couldn't previously do that on my modified Goodtime Artisan 2. I was initially surprised and a bit dismayed by how much force it took to press the mount onto the hooks, but at least it won't come off the hooks by itself. The tuner body is easy to install and remove (so I can put it back on the standard mount for other banjos) because of the flattened top and bottom of the bracket's mounting ball. The Snark feels a bit loose on that ball, but doesn't actually move around by itself. The viewing angle isn't perfect, but the display is still 100% visible. Good value for the money.
I use the Snark tuner on all 6 of my banjos, and have them mounted to each. The mounts for the standard, 24 bracket banjos, fit fine and work well. The mount for the Goodtime Banjo does not fit and will not stay attached. I am disappointed that it is not of the same quality as the mount for my other banjos.
