This is a great bargain on A LOT of banjo!
This Chuck Lee Ovilla Custom was made in 2004, and has a whole bunch of unique features, custom inlays, and parts upgrades. It has a 12” Tony Pass birch block rim, and the traditional dowel style construction. The overall condition is very very good. Virtually no real wear or damage to speak of. It also features a custom made and inlayed armrest, custom headstock and fingerboard inlays, and it has had all the tuners upgraded. Believe it or not, all 4 headstock tuners are Keith D tuners. That’s over $500 in tuner upgrades alone!!! Also includes a couple of brass strap lugs and a padded (although somewhat worn) gig bag.
Overall, the feel and sound of this banjo is incredible. It conveys all those subtle tones that you look for in instruments of this type, and sound just jumps out with the slightest touch. The beautiful hand carved maple neck and event fretboard round out the features on this great build.
Includes free shipping, professional setup, fifth string spike installation, and gig bag at no extra charge.
*Note - a couple of the stop screws are missing out of the Keith tuners. These can be gotten pretty cheap, and the tuners still function just fine as tuners, you just can’t use the D-tuner feature without those little stop screws. We have some on order but if this banjo sells before then we’d be glad to send them along when they arrive.
