Huber is among the very best of replicating the pre war Gibson banjos, and this one is a fine example of a style 75!
This is Huber’s version of the old prewar style-75 banjos. This particular banjo has a mahogany neck that has a very nice feel to it along with a rosewood fingerboard with Flying Eagle inlay. There is very little fret wear on this banjo. There is some finish checking on the resonator (mostly where the thin lacquer finish has settled into the wood grain as is typical,) which is to be expected on a banjo of this build type that has been played even a little bit. Also, finish checking is noticeable in a few spots on the back of the neck (not structural or in the wood, only cosmetic.) This kind of thing is very common on older Gibsons. The tone is big and full with a nice initial crisp attack, and it’s got power for days all over the neck. It comes with a hard shell Superior case and a Huber Basketweave Leather Strap. A new version of this banjo starts at $5,295.00!
