What an incredible instrument, in more ways than one. It’s not just a great sounding and playing guitar, but it’s made of the most sought after materials and hand signed on the label by the master himself, Tony Rice!
Santa Cruz Tony Rice. Brazilian back and sides with German Spruce top. Original finish. Plays good with standard action and sounds so good with incredible tone. Deep V neck profile like a 1930's Martin would sport. Fossilized ivory strap button and bridge pins (countersunk to Tony’s specifications) added. This guitar was made to replicate Tony Rice's Clarence White D-28. Serial number is (D-416-R) made in June of 1989 which makes this an early version of the guitar which was later designated and sold as the Tony Rice Professional. Hardshell case and free shipping within the US included.
Condition:
Minor fret wear, but still many miles left in it. Repaired 2” crack in waisted of lower treble side, solid and stable now and spot finished over. Overall condition is very clean for guitar of this age. Quite impressively so honestly. There are some very minor finish scratches, mostly on the back from shirt buttons and the like. Not really any other notable damage to speak of.
1 11/16” nut with V shaped neck.
