Charlie Williams built these very consistently using high grade Sitka Spruce tops, African Mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge (all these woods are solid by the way, no laminates) and the bracing pattern is a very special X brace which is a pice of carbon fiber sandwiched between two piece of spruce.  This type of bracing is much stronger and allows for the braces to be lightened up, which results in more resonance.   And this thing has tone and resonance in spades and plays great.  Just a great box.  There are several videos of me playing mine on YouTube, just give me a call if you want more details.  All American made by a single craftsman for less than you would normally find a Chinese import for.
