Top of the line banjo with some unique custom features!
This is a very unique banjo that is likely a bit more collectible than other similar Yates banjos because of the burled walnut resonator!
This is a very nice sounding and playing banjo! It’s got that old dry pre war tone. It’s also unique because most of these RS-75 models come with matching mahogany neck and resonator. This one has a nice burled walnut resonator with beautiful wood concentric rings paired with the standard mahogany neck. This doesn’t affect the tone much, if any, as most banjo players agree that the neck wood makes a far greater difference in the tone than the type of wood used for the resonator. However, this makes for a beautiful banjo, that is a little less plain-looking than one with a standard mahogany resonator. This banjo was built in 2013, but shows very little fret wear. Warren Yates told us that if he built a new version of this banjo, it would be priced at $5,200-5,300!
