Wow!  This banjo is a stunner!  It sounds and plays every bit as good as it looks. An iconic banjo known the world over.  You won’t find a finer instrument than this!

In 1975, Alan Munde introduced the Stelling banjo to an international audience by playing a Stelling. Since then, Stelling Banjos have remained among the most desired in the world. The increasing rarity of the materials such as the highly figured claro walnut used in the neck and resonator, and the colorful abalone shell which the inlays are made from make this model one of the ultimate sound investments.

This banjo is a breeze to play and rings out with even with the slightest touch. And when really digging in, it seems to have an unlimited amount of power. The walnut lends to a rich tone and a crisp attack, with great balance across the strings.  And has a tone that’s kind of between that of maple and mahogany.  It retains the crispness of maple while still projecting a sweet balanced tone similar to mahogany. The notes up the neck have an unsurpassed amount of depth and power.  Overall, Stelling’s fit and finish are also second to none!  Even the finer details like the compensated bone nut just add evidence to the case for their quality being too notch. The hardshell case is a deluxe heavy-duty TKL emerald green crushed velvet plush lined case with a steel forged leather wrapped handle.

One feature standard on all Stelling banjos which contributes to their sound and power is the Tony Pass Old Wood Block Rim.
