I watched your (five star) video before I ordered – my thumb has what seems to be the exact same measurement as yours, and I use a large Zookie thumb pick for banjo, but I wanted to get a more solid pick for the guitar. I ordered the JD Crowe Large – it sounds fantastic but is too loose unless I push it way on to the knuckle, where it doesn’t want to stay anyway, so I am swapping the Large for a medium. I am one of those people I guess who like the thumb pick out around the middle of the nail.

watched your video on pick size. I have these big fat thumbs that measure 1" by 5/8". the large I have now fits very tight and is uncomfortable after a short time. where can find an xlarge or xxlarge
Really good presentation Jake, thanks. Looking forward to your Blue Chip flat pick discussion. Since there are so many types and styles of them, it’s a bit mind-boggling which one to buy for a given purpose!
jake, thanks for that video on the blue chip, i bought one from you several months ago and chose a medium size, when i got it it didn"t go back on my thumb as far as my other did, (pro-pick) so i have used it and so far have gotten kind of use to it now, i thought it would slip off while i was diggin in but it remained solid on my thumb, so i measured my thumb as you did and im a 7/8 just as you and still feel as it going to slip but its never moved, again thanks
That was an excellent explanation and overview of the the picks. Thanks Jake!

I bought a Blue Chip thumb pick…these are Highly Overrated..and Overpriced!!.I watched your video for sizing them and ordered a L..way too loose, returned for a M..Too small and picking end Too short.. waste of $$$, back to my trusty Dunlaps..Steel and Dobro player..
