Thanks for the help. As my end pin fell out of my A style Loar, I have tried a lap hold but may prefer a strap hold In the end.

Thanks, Jake. I thought I was going to have to find a thicker end pin, but this solves the problem easily!

Great idea for the quick fix on the endpin. Especially mentioning NOT to use glue. Glue can end up being a much bigger issue if you needed the endpin out for any reason. You would probably end up with some damage to your instrument just trying to get it out. The tape idea is quick, cheap and no added stress involved.
