A great buy on an old Gibson conversion banjo! This one is priced to sell!
This is a 1958 gibson conversion 5-string banjo. What does that mean? Originally it was a 4-string that someone has converted to a 5-string...and also this banjo wouldn’t have had a full weight tone ring originally as it does now. This has a 5-Star no hole tonering which was added later. As far as the neck, we’re not sure who made it but it’s of decent mahogany/ebony construction with a satin finish and plays quite comfortably. Overall just a really cool vintage rig with a lot of character. There’s just a certain tone old instruments have that’s hard to reproduce. Includes Hardshell Case, Upgraded Bridge, Shubb Rail Capo Already Installed, Professional Setup, and Ships Free within the US!
