The included clip-free mount attaches directly to your instrument’s tuning machine using the existing screw hole (longer screws included) so your tuner is always at hand and visible only to you. The Clip Free Tuner is designed to work with tuning machines with screw mounts.
Battery can be easily changed while tuner is mounted in place, removal of tuner not necessary.

So far the Micro Clip Free Tuner has been trouble free and easy to use. I like how it attaches directly to my mandolin and rotates out of the way when not in use.
I purchased this at the same time I purchased my Eastman MD515V mandolin because I wanted a low profile, inconspicuous tuner. Out of vanity, I suppose, I have never been a fan of having tuners clipped on my instruments while I play but the necessity to check tuning often necessitates one. This little gem really does the trick. Being low in profile and super simple to install it allows you at a glance to check tuning without being visually clunky. Very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to others.
Not in the way at all, and it works well! I would definitely purchase it again! Totally hides behind the headstock of my F-style mandolin, and is plenty sensitive. The supplied screws have the same thread-count as the screws supplied with the tuning machines, so no "double threading" of the screw hole.
