Pre-Owned Gibson 1934 Series Jumbo Acoustic Guitar With Case

Monthly payments available Learn more

If you could get in a Time Machine and go back to 1934 and buy an original Gibson jumbo, it would be almost exactly like this guitar!  This thing is just incredible, well kept, perfect frets and nearly perfect condition except for one minor case buckle ding (only cosmetic) on the underside of the bottom side wall.  The original owner purchased this instrument brand new about a year ago.  Comes professionally setup, with strap button installed, original redline hardshell case, and free shipping within the lower 48 US

First released in 1934, the slope shouldered Jumbo initiated a legendary line of rounded-shoulder dreadnoughts.  This was the basis for what has become one of the most sought-after acoustic guitars among discerning collectors and guitarists. The 1934 Jumbo features a solid, thermocured aged red spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides — a tonewood pairing legendary for its big volume and rich, full tone. The 1934 also features a beautiful mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard that offers smooth playability and stellar response.

The thermal aging process on the 1934 involves subjecting the tonewoods to the perfect level of heat over a carefully selected span of time. Because the red spruce top on the 1934 Jumbo has been thermally aged, all the impurities and moisture that stunt the overall tone of the wood has been removed, resulting in a sound that is pure and time-worn. The low end is more expansive; the midrange balanced; the high end clean and forward. The 1934 sits in the mix of just about any ensemble, or is great for solo performance.
